We are publishing the story of Sagar Mehra today who cleared not only RRB Clerk but RRB PO as well. He started his preparation with an analytical approach by taking the first mock test just to find his weak areas and then rigorously worked on them. PM: Please brief us on when did you start preparing for the competitive exams and how was your preparation journey.

Sagar: Hello friends, I am Sagar Mehra. I am from Bhopal (M.P). I have cleared RRB PO and RRB CLERK in my very first attempt. I started my preparation in November 2019 by enrolling in an e-learning platform.

Then, I gave my first mock just for finding my weak section and I found that was English and D.I.Then, I worked hard and tried my best in this sections. With the god’s grace and blessings of my parents, I cleared many exams in first attempt (RRB PO/CLERK/IBPS PO-Mains). I am very thankful to my elder sister for guiding me in interview preparation?

PM: Which exams did you appear in till date and what were their results?

Sagar: Below are the details:

  • SBI CLERK 2020 (FAILED)
  • RBI ASST 2020 (FAILED)
  • SSC CHSL 2019 (Tier II-Awaiting Result)
  • SSC CPO 2020 (Tier I-Cleared)
  • RRB PO 2020 (CLEARED)

PM: How did you prepare for the English section?

Sagar: I read everyday articles of “The Hindu” Newspaper. I have completed major topics of grammar and revise them periodically. I gave daily quizzes of English on PracticeMock App.

PM: How did you prepare for the Quantitative Aptitude section?

Sagar: Firstly, I learnt tables (till 25), squares (till 40), cubes (till 30) and fraction table for fast calculation. Then, I completed important arithmetic chapters. I practice 4-5 Prelims D.I and 1 Mains D.I everyday.

PM: How did you prepare for the Reasoning section?

Sagar: As reasoning was my strong section, I directly jumped to mock test and daily practiced different types of puzzles and it worked for me.

PM: How did you prepare for the General Awareness section?

Sagar: I watch current affairs video of crack exam daily and give daily quiz of CA. I Covered Banking/Financial Awarwness from You tube. Before Each Mains, I used to read top 500 ques of PracticeMock.

PM: What was your overall strategy? Did you follow a study schedule? If yes, please share the details.

Sagar: Out of my total study time, I divided it into 3 parts initially for English, Maths and Reasoning. I used to attempt 1 Mock test of PracticeMock everyday and I analyse it thoroughly on same day. Daily, I prepare a To-Do list in morning and I worked according to it.

PM: Did you face any hurdle as well? How did you overcome it?

Sagar: I faced hurdles like inconsistency but then I followed P3 formula – Planning, Practice and Perseverance. This helped me a lot.
