SBI PO Prelims will take place in some days, which leaves you with considerable time for your preparation. With lakhs of aspirants in the fray, you need to be ready for the competition. SBI PO Prelims 2022 is a speed-based test that will test your skills in all the 3 sections viz. English Language, Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning Ability. You need to be thorough with the different topics of these 3 sections so as to secure your place in the Mains exam. Please also keep in mind that Prelims scores are only a gateway to the Mains exam and will not be considered in the final selection. You need to score sufficiently high to clear the overall cut-offs of Prelims. There is no sectional cut-off in Prelims. In this article, we’ll be covering the Syllabus & Prep Strategy for the Quantitative Aptitude Section.
Let’s have a look at the SBI PO 2022 Prelims Exam Pattern:
S. No. | Name of Objective Test | No. of Questions | Max Marks | Total Time |
1 | English Language | 30 | 30 | 20 mins |
2 | Quantitative Aptitude | 35 | 35 | 20 mins |
3 | Reasoning Ability | 35 | 35 | 20 mins |
Total | 100 | 100 | 60 mins |
Knowing the syllabus of Quantitative Aptitude is extremely important before getting started with your preparation. Once you get to know the different topics of the Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus, you should start picking one topic at one time, understand the concept by watching online videos or from books and practice a lot of questions to get mastery on it. Below is the syllabus. Have a look:
Before you get started with your preparation, it’s important that you know your current preparation level. Take a Free Mock Test of SBI PO Prelims at PracticeMock and the analysis that you get will help you understand your weak areas. Once you’re notified of the areas where you need improvement, it will be easy for you to drive your preparation in the right direction.
After you have taken the Free Mock Test, pick a topic at one time and start preparing for it. For eg. in the above-given topics, let’s say you pick the topic which is ‘Data Analysis & Interpretation’. Now, this topic is extremely exhaustive and comprises different types of charts & graphs. Pick a graph, say ‘Line Graph’ and understand properly how it works. Check if there are any shortcuts/tricks available online in the form of videos. Also, check what kinds of questions have been asked previously. Once that is done, start solving questions on Line Graph. Analyze your attempts with the help of detailed solutions and see where are you lacking. Once you get the feeling that you have solved enough number of questions, move to a different topic. Finish this exercise in 20-30 days.
Once the above exercise is done for most of the topics mentioned in the syllabus, it’s time to test your quantitative aptitude skills in a controlled environment. Start solving Mock Tests to understand your performance and to improve upon it. Spend more time on mock tests’ analysis as the key to better performance would be lying over there. Have a look at the detailed solutions to the questions you answered incorrectly and see where’s the gap in your understanding. Similarly, have a look at the solutions to the questions you couldn’t answer. Skipping an easy/moderate question wouldn’t make sense. The mock test will also provide you with your All India Rank so that it’ll be easy for you to track how much more effort you need to put in to be amongst the top performers.
This is all from us in this article. Remember, the key to success lies in practising and there’s no better tool to practice than mock tests at the SBI PO 2022 Mock Test
