LIC ADO and LIC AAO are one of the most sought-after options like the NIACL AO (New India Assurance Company Limited Administrative Officer) Exam. The Life Insurance Corporation conducts both the LIC Administrative Officer (LIC AAO) and the LIC Apprentice Development Officer (LIC ADO) exams.

LIC AAO stands for Life Insurance Corporation of India’s Assistant Administrative Officer.
It is an administrative, office, or desk job. You will sit at a LIC office and manage the staff. On the other hand, LIC ADO is a sales administrative job (primarily marketing and sales job). In it, the candidates are required to tour allotted areas to locate and sponsor suitable individuals as Life Insurance Agents. Note: There is not much difference between the syllabus and exam pattern for both posts.
If you want to apply for either of the two posts, both the posts offer job security, respect, and growth for one’s career along with high work pressure like in any other respected job profile. An Administrative Officer requires to follow the usual office work. Whereas, an Apprentice Development Officer requires more traveling and attending sales meetings.
If you are looking for a government job, you can opt for one of the above-mentioned jobs in the insurance sector. Although LIC ADO is a job where you will be paid a salary one lesser in comparison to the salary paid to LIC AAO, LIC ADO involves more fieldwork and gives more ground experience, whereas LIC AAO offers more Office work. ADO is a permanent job and once the employee completes the probation period, he/she becomes a confirmed employee. The selected candidates as LIC AAOs have to serve for 2 years as a probationer under LIC.
After successful completion of this probation period, a candidate can become a permanent employee of LIC. LIC AAO is not subjected to any targets like LIC ADO as it is an administrative job. But AAOs are subjected to transfer after every 3 years. The Apprentice development officer job is a marketing job and is subjected to targets and if targets are not fulfilled the company has every right to take any disciplinary action.
