RBI Grade B 2021 Phase I is just a week away. Every year the Reserve Bank of India conducts this recruitment to shortlist the best of the best banking aspirants for the position of Grade B Officer. The number of vacancies is significantly less in this recruitment. While the vacancies of other banking exams range in thousands, that of this exam is not very high. In 2019, the number of vacancies were 199 and this year, the number of vacancies is 322. It’s the less number of vacancies which increases the competition drastically and makes the selection in this exam a tough job. Well! To help you with your preparation, we have come up with the revision strategy you should adopt to make the most of these remaining days. Have a look:

How Much Time Should You Devote on a Daily Basis for RBI Grade B Revision?

This really depends on your current preparation level. Below are the scenarios:

  • If you have understood all the important concepts of Reasoning, English Language & Quantitative Aptitude and have practised at least 100 questions on each of the topic, and your mock test scores are coming out good, your revision can be of 3-4 hours on a daily basis. This is important as you need to stay (& improve) on your current level.

  • If you got a hang of the important concepts but have not practised many questions, it’s high time that you start doing so. Download the
  •  where you can solve quizzes free of charge and the quizzes are uploaded on a daily basis. In this scenario, you need to practice for at least 6-7 hours on a daily basis. Remember: Practicing a lot of questions will help you improve on your speed which is going to be an important factor in this exam. Also, keep analyzing the accuracy in your attempts as there is a negative marking of 0.25 mark.
  • If you need to brush up on a majority of the concepts, this is the time. Devote as much time towards clearing your concepts and practising questions as possible.

What Should be Your Strategy for a Comprehensive Revision?

The strategy is simple and is mentioned in the below pointers:

  1. Review the basics of all the important concepts the list of which is given later in the article.
  2. Practice a lot of questions on these topics. The point is, you get very less time to solve & answer the right question.
  3. If you face & solve a lot of different kinds of questions of the same topic in this practice session, you will get used to them and can easily solve them in the actual exam.
  4. After solving the questions, put special focus towards those questions which you have answered incorrectly. Have a look at the detailed explanation and see what went wrong.

  5. Don’t ignore the questions which you have skipped as well. Check if those were actually difficult questions (which should be skipped) or easy questions which could have been answered easily.
  6. It’s inevitable at this stage that you start solving mock tests and keep a track on your All India Rank.
  7. Keep repeating the above steps for all the remaining days.

How to Revise General Awareness in this Last Week?

We have kept a separate paragraph for this since this is unlike other sections as in you don’t need to do calculations to arrive at the answers. These questions are pretty straightforward and you can answer them in relatively less time when compared with other sections viz. Reasoning, English Language & Quantitative Aptitude. Some important points which you need to consider while revising this section are:

  • This is the most scoring section of all the sections. You get 80 questions to be answered in 25 minutes.

  • Needless to say, the more questions you answer correctly in this section, the more your overall score increases. With 80 questions, there is a good scope of scoring well.
  • Going by past years’ exams, a majority of the questions had been asked from current affairs. Be ready with the current affairs questions.
  • Revise your GA notes.
  • Use Weekly Current Affairs PDFs for a systematic revision.
  • Don’t answer too many questions simply by guessing. Remember that there is negative marking in place. Keep guessing limited to minimum.
  • Take Current Affairs Quizzes on the PM app.
  • Keep taking mock tests and check how many questions have you been able to answer in a time-bound environment.
  • Make a note of the questions you answered incorrectly and ensure that you don’t repeat the same mistake.
  • Go through those questions as well which you couldn’t answer.

Remember: All the efforts you have put towards the preparation of this exam until now will be tested now. Utilize these remaining 7 days as much as possible. You will thank yourself later. If at all, you get bored in this revision process, think of the job at RBI which you’re aiming at.
