In this blog, we’ll provide you with the best last-minute tips that can help you focus better and manage your revision process well, and avoid common mistakes.
Before we discuss our last-minute tips, it is important that we take a look at the exam pattern of the IDBI JAM/PGDBF exam.
The IDBI JAM/PGDBF Exam 2025 Pattern is as follows:
Here are some essential last-minute tips you need to follow to make sure you have done all that was needed to gear up for a perfect performance:
You must keep in mind that there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks per question for each wrong answer given. So, keep all the above points in mind to avoid negative marking. So, it is always a better option to leave the question you’re completely unsure of. There is no penalty if one leaves a question blank.
You need to try to attempt those questions that you can solve easily and quickly. First, try to attempt questions that you can easily solve. Do not try to solve every question, but try to solve every question you feel you can solve quickly and accurately. Effective time management is one of the most major keys to success in the IDBI JAM Exam 2025. Speed and accuracy are the soul of the IDBI JAM or PGDBF Exam 2025. If you keep solving the questions at speed, you’ll get the time to solve the tough and tricky questions. This way, you can leave the tricky questions to revisit them later whenever time allows.
You will be required to score the minimum marks required in each section to clear the sectional cut-off and also the minimum total score to clear the overall cut-off in the online Exam to be short-listed for the Mains Exam. You can also take a look at last year’s cut-off to know how much you need to score this year in the Exam. Give a quick revision of all the formulas and tables that you have prepared. They always play a major role in implementing time management and enhancing speed. So, it becomes mandatory to practice them down or apply them randomly to experience their power in the actual Exam.
It is advisable to avoid preparing for new topics in the last moments before the Exam, as it may create confusion in your mind. In doing so, you may also forget certain important points that may appear in the Exam. It is always better to revise what you know. Don’t forget that the total exam duration for the IDBI JAM/PGDBF Exam will be 2 Hours and 120 minutes.
If you have time and if you are not feeling that stressed, then do take one last mock test as this will boost your confidence levels to great heights. Make sure that you simply take this mock test without any pressure to perform in it. However, if you wish to take this or not at the last moment, the choice is yours.
Don’t forget that it is mandatory to take the call letter of Online Main Exam along with authenticated/stamped Call letter of Online Preliminary examination and authenticated/stamped photocopy of (currently valid) photo identity proof (such as PAN Card/ Passport/Permanent Driving License/Voter’s Card with photograph/Bank Passbook with photograph/Photo Identity proof issued by a Gazetted Officer or People’s Representative on official letterhead/Identity Card issued by a recognized College or University/Aadhar Card/E-Aadhar Card with a photograph/Bar Council ID Card with photograph/Employee ID) to the exam centre. Plus, do take with you the original photo identity proof.
NOTE: Ration Card and Learner’s Driving License will NOT be accepted as valid ID proof. In case of candidates who have changed their name will be allowed only if they produce a Gazette notification/their marriage certificate/ affidavit in original.
Make sure you go to the Exam with a good Exam strategy. It will help you in attempting every question. For that, you need to make up your mind to skip questions you could get stuck on, to return to them later to complete the Exam. You need to skip every tough question that stumps you and attempt every question you feel you can answer quickly. For instance, if a minute slipped away and you still can’t answer a question, you should immediately skip it. If you keep mulling it over, you may naturally run out of time. So, you need to go through the Exam and try to do all the questions you know right away first, and then you will have loads of time to work out harder questions if this strategy goes well. And it will go well with regular practice.
