Section-wise Preparation Strategy

English Section Preparation Strategy

English is my strength. To be honest, I’ve never prepared for English. Despite this, I used to score more in English section because of my habits- I used to be a bookworm, right from my childhood. This helped me in covering basic grammar rules & vocabulary. I suggest people to read any books daily from any genre.

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

Even though I know the basics, I used to watch all shortcuts, different methods of solving from each and every topics. Lockdown has been useful to be in strengthening my basics. I used to devote 3-4hrs only for learning basics apart from other preparations.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

I was unaware of this section since I never seen these problems earlier. I was too slow to crack even a basic puzzle or input- output problems. I devoted most of my time in understanding the concepts clearly rather than urging to solve faster. This helped me in getting a clear grasp of concepts, after then I practiced on improving speed.

General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

GA has been by far the weakest section for me. Infact this is the reason I failed in most of the mains exams I wrote despite performing well in other sections. I found out difficult in studying daily GA and this is where PracticeMock helped me. I’ll take the weekly tests and analyze them. Also during exam time, I depend upon their special 500+ ga questions pdf, for revision and this has improved my GA score a lot.

Overall Strategy & Study Schedule

My strategy is to get most of your marks in your stronger subjects. For this you need to sharpen your preparation for descriptive paper, I suggest to practice on typing in hard keyboard since it fetches us easy marks. English and GA marks also should be higher in order to clear overall cutoff well-ahead. For quants & reasoning, I suggest to improve speed & accuracy as well as practice by taking mocks. During the last week of exam. I used to take 2-3 tests a day & analyze them. It helps us in identifying the right questions & leaving those time-consuming questions.

I used to forget all current affairs even after studying them daily or weekly. To overcome this, I study question based PDFs as this helps in familiarizing those news rather than revising on whole.

How did PracticeMock help you?

I completely depend on PM for my GA preparation. Their last minute question based GA PDFs has been really helpful in overcoming my difficulty in GA section. Also I take PMs topic wise question available in their App for practicing.

Message to the Fellow Aspirants

My suggestion is that, we should try hard in getting maximum marks rather than just clearing the cut-offs since interview performance is skeptical and marks vary from person to person. Due to this many people fail close to the overall marks. Concentrate on all sections including descriptive. It’ll brighten your chances of selection even after a mediocre interview performance.

This is what Lankesh has to say regarding his success. Read it through and stay inspired. If you’ve also cleared any exam and wish to be featured on our blog, write your success story hereTo check out more success stories, visit here.
