Hi, this is Kirti. I started preparing since 2019 for banking exams. My journey was filled with many ups and downs. I used to miss cut offs by very few marks but dedication and patience helped me. I am mentioning below my section-wise exam preparation strategy, however I will also mention that study and analyze what best suits to you by identifying your strong and weak areas accordingly. Every candidate according to me is different and so should be their way of preparation.

Editorials reading and clearing grammar concepts. Then solving quizzes on daily basis. Also sectional tests for mains.

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

First I cleared my basic concepts of arithmetic then practiced then topic wise and then mixed questions. For DI I practiced basic ones then I used to submit mocks and try to understand DI and solve them.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

I used to solve puzzles from mock tests and also focused on small topics because they were scoring in pre as well as mains. Practice for reasoning needs to be done on regular basis.

General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

I used to study daily current affairs. Then revise them weekly and monthly. Then focused on mcqs. Revision is the key for general awareness.

Overall Strategy & Study Schedule

The most important thing during preparation was being aware of the syllabus and exam pattern and make a schedule according to it. I used to prepare my time table a day before so that I would know what all targets I have for the next day. This helped me a lot. I used to start my day with editorial and current affairs, then a short break. After that reasoning or quants whichever was comfortable. Then 1 hour break to relax. The next one was English quizzes and sectional tests. After that in evening I spent my day practicing quants and reasoning. I used to attempt mock tests on alternate days for pre. And for mains twice in a week. And the analysis was most important aspect to understand the improvement in studies. So I gave good amount of time to analysis part. Also quality was more important than quantity. I started my preparation with PracticeMock tests and I liked the content as it was exam oriented. So a good mock test series is also important. Also practice needs to be done from minimum 2 different mock test series.

I always had a tough time preparing quants section but with time and practice I overcame it. Also the biggest hurdle is when you don’t have anyone to motivate you. People used to criticize when the results were not in my favour. But what matters is consistent efforts and confidence on your own self. With that you can crack any exam.

I would like to tell everyone who is preparing or will start to prepare that there would come times when we get fail and would fail by very less margin also. But in the end what is going to help is a strategy of your own. Don’t follow blindly any strategy of anyone. Study and analyze what best suits to you. And identify your weak and strong areas and act accordingly. Because every candidate is different and so should be their way of preparation. At last never lose hope, there would be lakhs of people appearing and only thousands get the job. But right advice and right actions at right time would lead you to a better future. So keep going even if it seems you are not going anywhere and you will definitely ace banking exams.
