Therefore, mastering these questions can significantly impact the performance in the English section. In this blog, we’ll provide you with some of the most important parajumble questions for practice, also in PDF format. Read on to learn how to focus on understanding the logical flow of sentences, and develop strategies to identify the correct sequence quickly.

What are Parajumbles?

Parajumbles, as the name suggests, is a group of relatable sentences of a paragraph that is just arranged in some random order. Aspirants, while solving such types of questions need to find out the exact sequence as per the paragraph coherence. One sentence is linked to another and the end goal is to complete the paragraph logically.

How to Solve Parajumbles for SBI Clerk

ParaJumbles are a few sets of statements connected but displayed in some random order. The aspirants have to identify the statements and arrange them in an order thus creating a meaningful paragraph. If you follow a systematic approach to solve this you can easily fetch full marks. To make sure that you are doing the para jumbles right, follow these tips and rules:

  1. Read the sentences carefully and if you find a sentence introducing a place, person, or concept then most likely it will be the first sentence. Moreover, read the sentences to comprehend the entire theme of the paragraph and accordingly judge the first sentence.
  2. Secondly, it is important to identify the opening and closing statements. If you have identified the first sentence, then most likely you will be able to figure out the last sentence too. To identify the last or the closing sentence check out for a sentence that is conclusive in nature. Moreover, the last sentence cannot be abrupt and should be connected logically to the entire paragraph.
  3. Try and identify sentences that are connected or linked in any way. Various connectors like hence, yet, consequently, and, when, meanwhile, however, whenever, moreover, etc can be used in a sentence. These sentences are never the opening ones. These connectors represent a continuation of an idea.
  4. The next step talks about finding the transition words. Transition words function as logical connectors between sentences. The most commonly used transition words in para jumbles are: Even so, however, furthermore, similarly, subsequently, therefore, meanwhile, moreover, soon, for instance, likewise, later, and In addition, etc.
  5. Identify Pronouns like she, he, them, their etc. These are generally used when the person who is being talked about has already been introduced. For example, if one sentence talks about Shalini and another sentence starts with She then it implies that she is referred to Shalini. So, it is important to find connections among the sentences.
  6. Try and identify the adjectives as these are comparative. Thus, they always hold a relation to other things. Finding adjectives can also be a good help in solving para jumbles. Adjectives like simpler, cleverer, etc are comparative.
  7. There may be some sentences in para jumbles in which some activity is being talked about. In that case, analyzing the activity being talked about can do the trick and shall help you rearrange all the sentences well.
  8. Last but not least it is generally said that eliminating the options is always helpful in the English section. Sometimes identifying all sentences is not necessary, you can rearrange the sentences simply by eliminating the irrelevant options one after the other.
