Imp. Reasoning Topics-NIACL AO Prelims

The NIACL has released NIACL AO Exam 2021 date on September 24, 2021. The AO (Generalist) (Scale 1) exam for Phase I will be conducted on October 16, 2021. As the NIACL AO 2021 Exam dates are out now, you need to complete each and every topic from each section of the exam.

Today we’ll focus on the Reasoning Section which is the trickiest yet one of the most scoring sections in the exam if prepared well. Many students fail to fetch maximum marks in this section, as they don’t go to the exam well-prepared and with a proper exam strategy. This can be done in various ways. One of which is, preparing all the important topics from the Reasoning Section. NIACL AO Exam Pattern

As per the NIACL, the selection process of a candidate is based on the four recruitment stages given below:

Preliminary Stage

This stage of the recruitment process consists of three sections, English language, quantitative aptitude, and reasoning ability. The exam is conducted in online mode, with objective-type questions carrying a total score of 100 Marks.

Important Topics for Reasoning Ability section-NIACL AO Prelims Exam 2021

The Reasoning Ability section of both the Prelims & Mains exams entertain the same topics in the Reasoning Ability section. But the questions of the Mains exam are tougher than that of the Prelims. Here are the topics:

Although the most important topics of Reasoning Ability are always Syllogism, Inequality, Coding-Decoding, and Miscellaneous, that doesn’t mean you have to prepare only these topics and leave others. Some of the most important topics that you should thoroughly prepare are:

1.    Seating Arrangements & Puzzles

Questions on puzzles almost always appear in the exam in two digits. You can expect at least 14-15 questions from it (puzzles and seating arrangement questions).

The types of puzzles you must focus on are:

  • Floor based puzzles
  • Tabulation
  • Linear, 2 Row, Circular, Square seating arrangement
  • Scheduling (Day/Week/Year/Date/Time)

2.    Inequality

You can expect 4-5 questions on direct inequalities, plus some problems based on coded inequalities.

3.    Syllogism

You can expect around 4-5 syllogism questions. Practice the new pattern, questions like, ‘Only/Only a few’ and on traditional syllogism. Also, pay attention to set theory skills.

4.    Alphanumeric Series/Alphabet Test

Expect around 5 questions on this topic. Practice questions based on alphanumeric and alphabet, Learn the positions of the alphabet, ‘forward and backward,’ to gain speed and save some time during the Exam.

5.    Coding-Decoding

Around 4-5 language-based coding-decoding/Chinese coding questions are expected to come in the Exam, as IBPS RRB PO had witnessed it last year too.

1.    Proper Exam plan and strategy

A Proper Exam plan and strategy are important from the point of view of time management. Therefore, you need to work on the proper and logical strategy to go to the Exam with. It must consist of the plan related to the maximum number of questions to be attempted. It is recommended that you attempt at least 30 out of the 35 questions. If you will succeed in it, you will speed up your progress in the actual exam.

2. Target solving easy questions first

Without any doubt, the Reasoning section is a time-consuming section, where most aspirants waste a lot of time due to the wrong strategy of choosing questions to answer. To avoid wasting your time, you must attempt questions that seem easy to you instead of getting stuck on questions you feel will take more time to be solved. You can mark it for a later review to save your time.

3. Solve questions on paper & save time

Some of the topics in the Reasoning section need more time than others and can be solved quickly and accurately on paper, like blood relation, syllogisms, inequality, directions, syllogisms, etc. Hence, you should solve these questions in the paper to improve your score in less time.

4. Avoid beginning with puzzles questions

To avoid being worried about the clock ticking or getting stuck on a puzzle question, and wasting your time, you should solve the arithmetic questions first. The puzzle section can become the trickiest of all the sections in the Exam, as it tends to take more time. If you will succeed in attempting all the puzzle questions with speed and accuracy, you will have you’ll have an edge over the other candidates who are weak in it.

5.   Learn and practice reasoning tricks

It is an advantage to have the know-how of the reasoning tricks to solve the paper quickly. You should learn or practice these time-saving tricks for the upcoming NIAL AO Exam 2021. You can also improve your skill and performance via reasoning short tricks.
