Declaration of shortlisting status for Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for the post of Assistant

ICAR-IARI conducted the Main Examination (Paper-I (CBT) & Paper-II (Pen- Paper Mode) for the post of Assistant-2022 on 21.06.2023 at different centers across the country.
- Based on the aggregate performance in the Paper-I (CBT) & Paper-II (Pen-Paper Mode) of the Mains Examination, candidates have been shortlisted to appear in the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT).
- Shortlisting status for Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) has already been informed to the all the candidates who have appeared in the Main examination through SMS and E-mail.
- Candidates may check their shortlisting status for the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) till 01.12.2023 11:55 PM by using his/her login credentials on the portal or using the link given below:

- The details for the Computer Proficiency Test will be informed in due course of time.
- Candidates are also informed that marks, cut-off marks of Preliminary and Mains Examination will be uploaded on the IARI website i.e., www.iari.res.in only after the entire process of the Assistant examination- 2022.
- The candidature is purely provisional in nature, subject to fulfilling all criteria as mentioned in the advertisement dated 07.05.2022.
- Although every care has been taken to shortlist the candidates for Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), IARI reserves the right to modify the shortlisting status in case of any discrepancy/error is noticed at any stage of the recruitment process.

ICAR IARI Exam Overview
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts the ICAR IARI Technician and ICAR IARI Assistant exams to recruit candidates for various technical and non-technical positions at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the ICAR IARI Technician and IARI Assistant exams vary depending on the specific position being recruited for. However, the general eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Nationality: Indian citizen
- Age: Minimum 18 years and maximum 45 years as on the date of the notification
- Educational Qualification: For Technician positions, a 10th pass with a Diploma in Agriculture or related field; for Assistant positions, a Graduate degree in Agriculture or related field
Exam Pattern
The ICAR IARI Technician and IARI Assistant exams are conducted in two stages: Preliminary and Mains.
Preliminary Exam
The Preliminary Exam is a computer-based test (CBT) that consists of 100 objective-type questions. The time duration for the Preliminary Exam is 1 hour.
Mains Exam
The Mains Exam consists of two papers: Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is an objective-type test that consists of 100 questions. Paper-II is a descriptive paper that consists of questions related to essay writing, precis writing, and letter writing. The time duration for Paper-I is 2 hours and the time duration for Paper-II is 1 hour.
Syllabus
The syllabus for the ICAR IARI Technician and IARI Assistant exams covers a wide range of topics, including:
- Agriculture: General Agriculture, Crop Production, Horticulture, Agroforestry, Soil Science, Plant Protection, Plant Breeding, Agricultural Extension
- General Knowledge: Current affairs, History, Geography, Economics, Mathematics, Reasoning
- English Language: Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, Composition
Selection Process
The selection process for the ICAR IARI Technician and IARI Assistant exams is based on the performance of the candidates in the Preliminary and Mains exams. Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Exam will be eligible to appear for the Mains Exam. Candidates who qualify both the Preliminary and Mains exams will be called for a document verification and personal interview. The final selection will be based on the overall performance in the Preliminary, Mains, and interview.
