IBPS RRB PO Exam Process 2023

IBPS RRB conducts exams yearly to recruit clerks and POs in respective RRBs (Regional Rural Banks). The selection for the post of Officers Scale I, II & III involves three levels Prelim, Main, and Interview. Final merit for RRB PO prepared considering marks scored by candidates in Mains and Interview. The Prelims exam of PO is of qualifying nature. RRB PO Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to meet the required eligibility criteria to be eligible for RRB Officers Scale I, II & III.

Nationality/Citizenship

  • a Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or
  • a subject of Bhutan or
  • a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settled in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit

  • Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager): Above 18 years-Below 30 years
  • Officer Scale-II (Manager): Above 21 years-Below 32 years
  • Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager): Above 21 years-Below 40 years

Educational Qualification

Candidates need to meet educational qualification criteria to apply for the RRB PO job online.

Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager)

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college.
  • Preference is given to candidates having a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics, or Accountancy.
  • Computer Knowledge is required.
  • Knowledge of the local language as prescribed by the participating RRBs.

Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer (Manager)

  • Minimum 50% marks in the graduate degree from a recognized college or university.
  • Candidates will get preference with bachelor’s degrees in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing, Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics, and Accountancy.
  • Two years of working experience in an officer-level position in banks or financial institutions.

Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (Manager)

Information Technology Officer

  • 50% marks in Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or College in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology.
  • Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP, etc.
  • One year of working experience.

Chartered Accountant (CA)

  • Certified CA course from ICAI.
  • One year of relevant experience as a Chartered Accountant.

Law Officer

  • 50% marks in law degree from a recognized educational institution.
  • Two years of experience working as an advocate in banks or financial institutions.

Treasury Manager

  • CA/MBA finance degree from a recognized college/university.
  • Two years experience.

Marketing Officer

  • MBA degree in marketing from a recognized college or university.
  • One year experience as a marketing officer.

Agricultural Officer

  • 50% marks in Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized college or university.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Scale-III (Senior Manager)

  • 50% aggregate marks in bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university.
  • Diploma course in respective fields  Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing, and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience.

Selection Process of RRB PO 2023

RRB Probationary Officer 2023 selection process involves three levels: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview. Final Merit list is prepared from the Main examination and interview scores. Then, IBPS starts allotting banks to qualified candidates on the final merit list.

Preliminary Examination Pattern

Preliminary exam pattern includes 80 questions for 80 marks and the time duration is of 45 minutes. Negative marking is ¼ for wrong questions. The Prelim exam is of a qualifying nature and candidates need to score cut-off marks (sectional & overall) to clear the exam.
