Cut-off Analysis for both years

It is quite evident that the 2019 cut-off was way higher than the 2020 cut-off. For some states, the difference between the two years’ cut-off is way too much. The numbers are in double digits if we calculate the difference. And this pattern is recognizable for both prelims and mains. The possible reason behind so would be the difficulty level of the exam. Although, other factors such as the number of applicants, and the number of vacancies also make a difference the prime driver for cut-offs is the difficulty level of the exam.

Cut-off Analysis for 2021

Following the cut-off pattern for the last two years makes it very difficult for doing an extensive cut-off analysis. The nature of the last two years is highly unpredictable. So, it won’t make sense to jump to any specific conclusions. Our advice would be to prepare for the worst. The word “worst” doesn’t reflect negativity here but it is rather a reminder to not take anything for granted.
