Applications for one of the most awaited banking exams for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) commonly known as Bank clerical examinations in various Regional Rural Banks (RRB) across the country are flooding the IBPS’s (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) website. Before we move forward let me inform you that the examination for the post of Office Assistant for different RRBs is conducted by IBPS through a CRP (Common Recruitment Process). 

Ideally, every year, applications for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) are invited in June and July. This year the application form for RRB Clerk Examination is yet to be released. Nevertheless, we will keep you in the loop. Hence it is advised to keep your ears grounded for our upcoming posts regarding RRB Clerk Examination.

Examination Schedule for RRB Clerk:

While setting out for the examination preparation, it’s important to plan your strategy according to the examination schedule. The tentative dates for the IBPS RRB Office Assistant Exam are as follows:

  • Online Registration and Application: July-August 2023
  • Preliminary Exam: August 5, 2023, onwards
  • Mains Exam: September 16, 2023

Eligibility for IBPS RRB Clerk Examination:

Likewise, while applying for the post of Office Assistant, a candidate must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • Age Limit: The minimum age limit for the post of Office Assistant is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 28 years. However, age relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories namely SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex/Disabled Servicemen, Widows, Divorce women, and Persons affected by the 1984 riots as per government norms.
  • Educational Qualification: The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution. Apart from that Proficiency in the local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s*

Number of Vacancies

Afterwards, a candidate must be aware of the number of vacancies. It helps the candidate assess the level of competition for the post. The number of vacancies for the post of Office Assistant in various RRBs will be declared in due course of time. Last year the vacancies were 4,500+. Candidates are advised to keep a regular check on this page for updates regarding the vacancies. 

Exam Pattern

The examination is divided into two parts: a) Preliminary and Mains. The preliminary examination is held in July while the Mains are held during September/October. 

The pattern of examination for the IBPS RRB Office Assistant Exam 2023 is as follows:

Preliminary Exam

The preliminary exam is conducted online and consists of two sections – Reasoning and Numerical Ability. The total exam duration is 45 minutes, and the total number of questions is 80.
