IBPS Clerk Syllabus 2023 and Exam Pattern

If you want to be a clerk in a bank, you need to take the IBPS Clerk exam. It’s similar to other bank exams, but you don’t need to worry about interviews. Just focus on the main topics that IBPS gives you, and break them down into smaller parts based on the questions from previous years. The IBPS Clerk syllabus has two papers that test your knowledge and skills.

(i) IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam Syllabus

IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam Syllabus comprises three sections broadly: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language.

(ii) IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Syllabus

IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Syllabus comprises four Sections broadly: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and an additional section on Computer Knowledge and General Awareness.

There will be a negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect answer in the IBPS Exam 2023.

IBPS Clerk 2023 Prelims Exam Pattern

The first paper is the IBPS Prelims Exam. It has three sections that cover different subjects. You have one hour to answer 100 questions, but you can only spend 20 minutes on each section. The second paper is the IBPS Main Exam. It has more sections and more questions than the Prelims Exam. You have to pass each section by getting enough marks. IBPS will decide how many marks you need and how many candidates will move on to the next stage.

IBPS Clerk 2023 Mains Exam Pattern

You will have to answer 190 questions in just 160 minutes, covering four different sections. Each section has its own time limit, so you need to manage your time wisely. One of the trickiest sections is the Computer Aptitude and Reasoning Ability section, which combines two topics into one. You will have to solve 50 questions on both computer skills and logical reasoning, testing your speed and accuracy. If you want to succeed in this exam, you need to practice hard and master all the topics.

IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Syllabus 2023

The IBPS Clerk Prelims syllabus consists of 3 subjects making up the objective type paper namely, Reasoning Ability, English Language, and Quantitative Aptitude. The Latest Syllabus for IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam has been detailed below:

1. Reasoning Ability

Seating Arrangements, Puzzles, Inequalities, Syllogism, Input-Output, Data Sufficiency, Blood Relations, Order and Ranking, Alphanumeric Series, Distance and Direction, Verbal Reasoning

2. English Language

Cloze Test, Reading Comprehension, Spotting Errors, Sentence Improvement, Sentence Correction, Para Jumbles, Fill in the Blanks, Para/Sentence Completion

3. Quantitative Aptitude

Number Series, Data Interpretation, Simplification/ Approximation, Quadratic Equation, Data Sufficiency, Mensuration, Average, Profit and Loss, Ratio and Proportion, Work, Time, and Energy, Time and Distance, Probability, Relations, Simple and Compound Interest, Permutation and Combination

Apart from these common subjects asked for all the posts, candidates are required to have Professional Knowledge as well, which can be tested in the mains part of the exam.

IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Syllabus 2023

As per the IBPS Clerk Mains Syllabus, the paper is divided into four sections. The IBPS Clerk Syllabus will have the addition of an extra section called General Awareness. This section will have questions based on financial awareness.
