IBPS PO 2020 Prelims- Social Distancing Mode Instructions

Are you ready for IBPS PO 2020 Prelims which would be conducted on October 3, 2020? Keeping COVID-19 in mind, this year IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) has decided to conduct IBPS PO Prelims & Mains in social distancing mode. And rightly so, after all there are lakhs of aspirants who appear for the Prelims & Mains exams and IBPS wouldn’t like to take any chance with the safety of the aspirants. There are certain important points regarding this social distancing mode which we will be covering in this article. Let’s have a look:

Before we start, we would like to inform you that it’s very important for your safety to follow these instructions religiously. Not only following the social distancing mode for IBPS PO Prelims will keep you, other aspirants and invigilators, safe but you will also be able to take the exams smoothly. All of these instructions are simple to follow.

Instructions related to Reporting at the Exam Venue

  • Report at the exam venue strictly as mentioned in the admit card and/or mentioned in the SMS/Mail mentioned sent on your registered mobile number/email address. Please note that you should strictly adhere to the time slot mentioned and make prior arrangements to be at the exam centre at least 15 minutes prior to the reporting time.
  • Candidates’ Roll Number and Lab Number will not be displayed outside the exam centre unlike it has been happening in the past years. This information will be provided to the candidates individually when they enter the exam centre and get their Admit Card/ Call Letter and ID verified. It’s important to remember the mapping of your lab number as that would be the place from where you will be taking IBPS PO Prelims.
  • All candidates will be checked with Thermo guns at the entry point to check the temperature. If any candidate’s temperate is found above the normal temperature (>99.14 degree farenheit) or if any candidate displays any other symptom of the virus, he/she will not be allowed entry in the exam centre.
  • After the IBPS PO exam is over, the candidate must move out in an orderly manner without crowding as instructed by the staff.

Instructions related to Permitted Items inside the Exam Centre

Please note that in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, you are permitted to carry some extra items, unlike last year. 

  1. Mask (Wearing a Mask is COMPULSORY.)
  2. Gloves
  3. Personal transparent water bottle
  4. Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml)
  5. A simple pen
  6. Exam related documents (Call Letter/Admit Card, ID card in Original, Photocopy of ID Card, etc)
  7. Call Letter/Admit Card should be brought with the Photocopy of the Photo ID stapled with it. Original ID (same as Photocopy) is also to be brought for verification. The name on the ID and on the Call Letter/Admit Card should be exactly the same.
  8. In case of Scribe Candidates – Scribe form duly filled and signed with Photograph affixed.

Other Important Instructions

  • This is an exhaustive list and apart from the items mentioned below, no other item is allowed inside the exam centre.
  • Please also note that you are not allowed to share any of your personal belongings with anybody.
  • You should maintain safe social distance with one another.
  • As per the instructions, you should stand in a row at the exam centre.
  • In case an IBPS PO candidate is availing a scribe, the scribe should also bring their own gloves, N95 mask, sanitizer (50 ml) and water bottle.

Instructions related to Aarogya Setu app/Signed Declaration

  • Having Aarogya Setu installed on your phone is compulsory. This is important to check each and every candidate’s risk factor.
  • You need to display your status on Aarogya Setu app to the security guard when entering the exam centre.
  • In case, Aarogya Setu shows moderate or high risk status, those candidates will not be allowed entry.
  • Aarogya Setu app can be installed only on smartphones. In case you don’t have a smartphone, you need to bring a signed declaration (format provided below).
  • This signed declaration needs to be shown to the security guard at the exam centre.
  • If the responses on the signed declaration suggest COVID-19 infection/symptoms, the candidate will not be allowed entry.in the exam.
  • These same set of instructions apply to scribes brought by candidates.
  • Once you have shown the risk status on Aarogya Setu app, you will be required to switch off your mobile phones and deposit it at the designated locations. You can collect your mobile phone once you are done with the exam.

Instructions regarding Candidate Registration

  • Please note that candidates’ registration will be done through photo capture.
  • The photo will be taken while the candidate is standing.
  • Seat Number will be allotted to the candidates.

Instructions related to Rough Sheet, Call Letter and ID Proof Management

  • Rough sheets will be kept on the candidates’ desk in advance. Please note that additional sheets will not be provided in the exam. Candidates have to use that rough sheet for their rough work.
  • All the candidates must follow instructions related to dropping the call letter with the ID proof copy in the boxes provided at the exit of lab/venue while leaving or at the designated place. Candidates who avail the services of Scribe should submit Scribe form also along with the Call Letter and ID proof copy.
  • Candidate must drop the rough sheets in the boxes provided at the exit of lab/venue while leaving. Please keep in mind that the dropbox for the rough sheets will be different from that of Call Letter box. Specific instructions will be displayed at the Venue regarding these.
