The IBPS RRB Office Assistant is a Management novice or a trainee job. After clearing the Exam, you will be on a probation period of 2 years. You will have to go through this coaching phase. When you will join as an IBPS RRB Office Assistant, you will have an opportunity to become Scale-II or Scale-III officers via promotion. The career growth opportunities are limited as compared to other commercialized and nationalized banks because of the small-scale existence of rural banks.

  • Responsible for sanctioning of withdrawals by the customer, verifying cheques, issuing demand drafts (as per request) and other services to the customers.
  • Manning Single Window Counter task time to time
  • Issue Cash Receipts and ESI Stamps at Counters
  • Attending to Government Treasury Work
  • Pass Books Updation of Account Holders
  • Maintaining the various documents of the bank, balance sheets, ledger, etc.
  • Resolving the various issues of the customers
  • Providing information about the latest schemes and government policies
  • Providing guidance to customers relating to various banking activities

IBPS Clerk Career Growth & Promotions

The career and promotion opportunities that you can enjoy after recruitment as an IBPS Clerk/officer are:

  • Scale 1 – Officer / Assistant Manager
  • Scale 2 – Manager
  • Scale 3 – Senior Manager
  • Scale 4 – Chief Manager
  • Scale 5 – Asst. General Manager
  • Scale 6 – Deputy General Manager
  • Scale 7 – General Manager.

Note: Every promotion will bring an increase in your salary with many other benefits. To qualify for promotions you will have to face internal interviews and written exams.

IBPS Clerk offers a good salary, a settled job, and multiple chances of growth. Based on the performance, the promotion and growth are quite attractive. However, a minimum of 2 years of service is required to get eligible for a promotion. After two years of service, IBPS Clerks gets promoted once every two years.

Promotions Process

As an IBPS Clerk, you can get Promotions by the following two processes:

  • Normal process: To get promoted through this process you will need no JAIIB and CAIIB Diploma. You will be promoted based on your experience and seniority and a written exam, which is conducted internally. After that you can become a Trainee Officer and then a bank Probationary Officers (PO).
  • Merit based process: For a Merit Based Process you will need a JAIIB and CAIIB Diploma from Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.

Reason for stress?
