I Had One Motto Never Give Up Says Priyanka Adhikary Cleared IBPS RRB OS 1

Which exams did you appear in till date and what were their results?*

I passed my graduation in Civil engineering in 2017. In that very year I appeared in RRB Clerk and IBPS Clerk without preparation. I failed in both of them. Then I was preparing for technical exams upto April, 2018. Then I shifted my preparation towards banking. I appeared in SBI clerk 2018 with proper preparation and passed my first prelims. But failed in Mains with a Score of 73.3 where cut off was 95.3 in West Bengal. Then I appeared in several banking and insurance exams. SBI PO, INDIAN BANK PO, BOB PGDBF, ESIC SSO, NIACL ASSISTANT and failed in all of them. I appeared for IBPS PO 2018 with increased preparation. Passed Prelims. Also passed my first mains. Prepared my hardest for interview but couldn’t make it to the final list. After this big exam I entered a depressing phase. I failed in four prelims. One after another. IBPS Clerk, NIACL AO, SBI PO and LIC AAO. But I was not defeated. After this much failure I started feeling free. I lost the fear of failure. That’s why I started passing most of the exams after that. I passed FCI AG-3 Prelims and in waiting list after the final result, SBI Clerk Prelims and missed the final list by 2.75 marks, ESIC Prelims and Mains, LIC ADO Prelims, RRB Clerk Prelims didn’t appeared for mains because I had ESIC Skill Test on the same day, RRB PO- made it to final list, IBPS PO Prelims and Mains interview is on the way, Have given LIC Assistant Mains and Leaving IBPS Clerk mains.

How did you prepare for the English section?*

For Quant, I cleared my basics from RS Agarwal and for reasoning I used Verbal Reasoning book by BSC for basic understanding. I used to teach English to class VI- VII students that’s why my grammar was good. But I started reading The Hindu news paper to improve my reading habit and used to note unknown words. After learning basics I started giving mocks from test book and Smart kedda. Then I purchased mocks of Oliveboard and Practice Mock. These two platforms made me aware of present scenario of exams. I used to give speed tests of adda 247 and Oliveboard. With this there is a platform which gave me immense support and knowledge. That is Meritshine. Their you tube channel and facebook group both helped me in every stage of the examination. I used to have Practice Mock app, Oliveboard app, grade up and adda 247 app in my phone for practice. For Current Affairs I followed Affairs Cloud and Study IQ. For revision purpose I used Practice Mock 500 Question pdf.

What was your overall strategy? Did you follow a study schedule? If yes, please share the details.*

I had one motto. Never Give Up. I failed in several exams before achieving today’s success. I used to study news paper and current affairs in the morning. Then I used to give 1-1.5 HR for speed tests. Then after breakfast it was my time for mock. Then analysis of the mock. In evening I used to spend my time for practicing quant and puzzles. From pdfs and books. Before mains I used to give mocks and analyse them. For gk, my strategy was revise multiple times. That’s all.

Did PracticeMock help you in your success? Please elaborate.*

Practice made me aware about real exam scenario. They give both easy and difficult mocks. That’s why I experienced different levels of questions. And practiced well. They give mocks at a very minimal price. That’s why it is very much affordable too.

What’s your message for the fellow aspirants who are preparing for competitive exams?*

I was never a brilliant student. I am not very studious or intelligent one. But I had a strong and never breaking will power. I was not ready to give up. This will power helped me to explore every possible way to make my skills sharper. I want to say you all to work your hardest and never leave the journey. Always remember, there is a long story of failure behind every winner you see and you can be the story teller next.
