Result After Analysing the Previous Year’s Cut Off Marks

What we have analyzed by the SSC CGL previous year’s cut off marks? So, we have analyzed the cut off marks are increasing yearly. With the help of the data, the cut off marks for the UR, OBC, and EWS categories in 2022 were 114.27, 114.27, and 102.35 respectively. The cut off marks for UR, OBC, and EWS categories in 2023 were 150, 145.93, and 143.44 respectively. The cut off marks for UR, OBC, and EWS categories in 2024 were 153.18, 146.26, and 142.01 respectively.

Note: As you can see the cut off mark for EWS has decreased slightly but due to the increasing trend of competition you should work hard.

So, after analyzing the cut off marks we can conclude that you have to score at least 155+ marks in the SSC CGL 2025 exam if you want to pass the exam.

Strategy to Score Good Marks in SSC CGL 2025 Exam

Passing the SSC CGL exam requires a good approach or strategy. Cut off is also one of the important strategies that you must be aware of. It provides you with a target by which you can conclude how many scores or marks are needed to pass the exam. Below we have provided some important tips by which you can improve your scores for the SSC CGL 2025 exam.

  • Improve Your Mindset: A good mindset plays an important role in achieving any task. For SSC CGL, your mindset should be very focused in a way that you have good speed and accuracy for the exam. For Example: the time duration for SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is 60 minutes, then your mindset should be made up of in a way that you have only 55 minutes and you have to solve the question paper in 55 minutes. When you enter the examination center then there will be so many things by which you can get stuck, it may be stress, the computer system that they will provide you will be new for you, and much more.
  • Speed Improvement: Time constraints are one of the challenges in the SSC CGL exam. When you become able to solve mock tests in 55 minutes, then you can expect that you can solve the real exam within 60 minutes. So, from now onwards whenever you solve the mock tests keep in mind that you have provided 55 minutes instead of 60.
  • Practice, Practice, Practice: Speed improvement, accuracy enhancement, and ability to solve different types of questions can be achieved through regular practice. Whatever the section is either English, reasoning, general awareness, or quantitative aptitude practice is a must for all the sections.
  • Mock Test Analysis: Tracking your progress and preparation is mandatory for SSC CGL. Most candidates who become able to solve the questions easily thought that they can pass the exam. They don’t know the questions asked in the exam might be very different from the questions they have solved. So, they are advised to solve the mock tests and check their performance. The performance report is provided after submitting the mock test.
  • Follow Reliable Resources: Nowadays many platforms on the internet provide the resources for the SSC CGL exam preparation. So make sure that the resources you are following are the best and most reliable. You do not have that much time to follow any resources for the SSC CGL exam preparation. First, make sure about the resource then follow it.

Score Good Marks in SSC CGL Exam: Section-wise Strategy

Below we have provided the section-wise strategy that will help you in scoring good marks in the SSC CGL exam.

SSC CGL Quantitative Aptitude Strategy

  • As we all know, it is a time-consuming section. So, time management is very important and it can be improved by practice and practice.
  • You must be able to finish this section within 17-18 minutes of the exam.
  • Make a notebook to write down all the formulas (will help you in revision time during the last days of the exam).
  • Focus on most scoring topics (look for high-weightage topics).
  • Practicing questions is mandatory for this section.
  • You must be able to do addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in your mind.

SSC CGL General Intelligence and Reasoning Strategy

  • This section should be completed in 16-17 minutes during the exam.
  • Focus on the questions related to the topics such as puzzles, seating arrangement, series, etc. Candidates make silly mistakes while solving these questions.
  • Look for logic carefully among the logical questions.
  • Take reference to questions from the previous year’s question papers.
  • Try to implement shortcuts or tricks (if possible, it can save your time in the exam).
  • Make sure that you have learned at least 30 cube tables and 40 square tables.

SSC CGL English Language Strategy

  • This section must be solved within 12-13 minutes.
  • Make your vocabulary strong, learn grammar rules, and learn daily 15-20 words.
  • Practice cloze test, fill in the blanks, and reading comprehension. These topics contain high-weightage in the exam and are time-consuming too.
  • Leave the question and move on to the next one if the question is taking much time.

  • At last solve previous year question papers and mock tests.

SSC CGL General Awareness Strategy

  • Don’t follow guesswork in this section. Sometimes candidates get stuck between options and they use guesswork. So, try to avoid it, attempt only those questions on which you can rely.
  • You must be capable of attempting this section in 9-10 minutes.
  • Read the question carefully then only answer it.
  • Current affairs are important, make sure you are aware of at least the past 5-6 months of current affairs.
