Best Tips & Strategies to crack SSC CHSL 2023 in the First Attempt?
The SSC CHSL 2023 exam is one of the most cherished exams in India. It is not the toughest exam but the huge competition makes it hard to crack. Countless aspirants will face the exam this year, but only a few of them will make it to the final list and fill up the vacant posts. To make it to the final list, you will need to follow some proven tips and strategies that have almost always helped students clear the SSC CHSL exam.
Let’s throw light on how toppers clear it:
1. SSC usually repeats questions every year
The previous record says SSC does repeat questions in all sections. Be it in Reasoning or Maths, or in English and General Awareness. It is therefore important to solve the previous year’s papers. The last 5-year question papers saw around 2-3 questions from the last exams. Thus, questions get repeated every time in each section of the exam. Prepare all such questions and be ready to solve them accurately.
2. Focus on Static General Knowledge
General Knowledge is a scoring section but it’s difficult to score in this section for those students who feel that its syllabus is too vast. But a good understanding of the syllabus can make it the bedrock of getting overall good marks in the exam. In the GK section also, certain types of questions are repeated almost every year. Therefore, you need to focus on topics like; questions related to first in India, constitutional articles and amendments, commonly used chemicals, folk dances of India, etc.
3. Don’t avoid questions on reading comprehension
As reading comprehension takes a lot of time, many students avoid it to save time, which they can utilize in solving other questions. Whereas, the passages are easy to comprehend and can be answered in no time. RC can help you fetch full marks if you have a good reading speed and you have practiced it well. And as it’s not calculative in nature like Mathematics, so you don’t need to mug up any formulae or shortcuts to excel in it.
4. Current affairs are equally important
The general Awareness section of SSC CHSL consists of questions on history, polity, geography, science, and economics. However, many students believe in a misconception that current affairs should not be given priority. SSC, in previous years, has asked 4-5 marks questions in the general awareness section from topics related to current affairs. So, covering all major events of the last 3-4 months can give you 4-5 additional marks.
5. Understanding the basics of Maths is more important than tips and tricks
Major subjects for the General Awareness section of the SSC exam are undoubtedly history, polity, geography, science, and economics as most of the questions are asked from these subjects only. However, it is a misconception that current affairs are useless and should be ignored. The trend says that SSC asks around 4-5 marks questions in the GA section from topics on current affairs. So, if you’ll cover all important events of the last 4-5 months, you can easily fetch 4-5 additional marks.
6. Don’t mind if you are weak in Grammar
If you’re weak in Grammar you can still get good marks in English. Though, Grammar is an essential part of the English aspect it also takes time to improve. The English section has 25 questions that hold 50 marks in SSC CHSL Tier I. Out of 50 marks, grammar stands for only 15 marks. Therefore, you should try to score well in questions related to reading comprehension and vocabulary. But it is always better to improve your Grammar.
7. Focus on Synonyms, Antonyms & Idioms & phrases
Aspirants neglect vocabulary building and face multiple problems in the English section. So, it is essential to go through books like ‘Word Power Made Easy’ by Norman Lewis. Focus on topics like synonyms, antonyms, one-word substitution, and idioms/phrases. Try to learn as many English words as possible. Synonyms/antonyms are repeated by SSC in Exam. Solve previous years’ papers and practice these types of questions.
8. Right Exam Strategy
Have a thorough understanding of the SSC CHSL syllabus and the exam pattern 2022. Analyze and evaluate your weak and strong areas. Use that information in enhancing your speed and accuracy. Use it to make effective SSC CHSL preparation and exam strategy to unleash your full potential and crack the exam.
