Number of Attempts for RBI Grade B Exam

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) provides candidates with a certain number of attempts to clear the RBI Grade B exam. For general category candidates, the maximum number of attempts is 6. However, this limit does not apply to all candidates, as certain relaxation is provided for candidates from reserved categories.

  • For General Category candidates: A candidate can appear for the RBI Grade B exam a maximum of 6 times until they reach the age limit.
  • For OBC (Other Backward Classes) candidates: OBC candidates are allowed a maximum of 9 attempts.
  • For SC/ST candidates: SC/ST candidates have an unlimited number of attempts, provided they meet the age requirements.
  • For PwD candidates: Persons with Disabilities (PwD) also have the same number of attempts as the SC/ST candidates, which means they have unlimited attempts as long as they fulfill the age criteria.

Eligibility Criteria Based on Attempts

  • Age Limit for General Category candidates is 21 to 30 years. This means that once you reach the age of 30, you will no longer be eligible to apply for the RBI Grade B exam, even if you haven’t exhausted your attempts.
  • Age Relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories, which increases the eligibility age and provides more chances to appear for the exam.

Why Should You Know the Number of Attempts?

Knowing the number of attempts you have is crucial for strategic planning. You can set realistic goals and prepare accordingly by understanding how many attempts are allowed. While many candidates clear the exam in their first or second attempt, others may take more time. The number of attempts ensures that you have a fair chance to try again, learn from previous attempts, and improve your strategy.

Takeaway

To sum up, the RBI Grade B exam offers ample opportunities for candidates to try and succeed, whether they are from the general category or belong to a reserved category. As long as you focus on improving your knowledge, skills, and exam strategy, you will have the chance to succeed, no matter how many attempts it takes.
