Good News for GATE Aspirants! The moment that engineering and science enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting has finally arrived! The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 notification was officially released on August 30, 2023. With a reputation for being one of the most prestigious and challenging entrance exams in India, GATE opens doors to numerous postgraduate programs, scholarships, and career opportunities.
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru is all set to kick off the GATE 2024 registration process yesterday, August 30, 2023. The wait is finally over for the candidates who are eagerly waiting to apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2024. The registration form can be filled out on the official website at gate2024.iisc.ac.in. The application portal for GATE 2024 was expected to open by August 24, but it was later postponed to August 30.
As per the tentative schedule released for the GATE exam 2024, applicants can complete their online applications without late fees until September 29. The closing date of extended online registration/application process with late fee is October 13. Applicants will be able to make modifications to their GATE application form 2024 between November 7 to November 11, 2023. The GATE admit card 2024 will be released on January 3, 2024, while the exams will be conducted on February 3, 4, and 10, 11, 2024.

As per the recently unveiled GATE 2024 notification, the application process is set to commence on September 1, 2023, giving candidates ample time to prepare and gather the necessary documents. The deadline for submitting applications is October 10, 2023, so aspiring candidates must register and complete their applications well before the cutoff date.
The examination is scheduled to be held on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024, (for 30 different subjects) across multiple sessions to accommodate the vast number of applicants. This extended schedule aims to minimize the logistical challenges and ensure a smooth experience for all test-takers. It’s important to note that the GATE examination isn’t just for engineers; it encompasses a wide range of subjects including science, mathematics, and architecture.
GATE 2024 brings some noteworthy changes to the examination format in line with the ever-evolving landscape of education and technology. Once registered on GOAPS, candidates can fill out the application form by providing their details and uploading their documents such as photographs, signatures, and other important documents. After completing the GATE 2024 application form, candidates must pay the application fee for the final confirmation of their candidature.
Here are the steps to follow:
Step 1: Visit the official website at gate 2024.iisc.ac.in
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link given for ONLINE REGISTRATION and register yourself.
Step 3: Now again go to the homepage, click on FILL APPLICATION FORM, and log in.
Step 4: Now proceed with filling out the GATE application form 2024 and upload all the necessary documents.
Step 5: Make the payment of online application fees.
Step 6: Download the confirmation page and take its printout for further use.
(i) Regular Period: The application fee for female candidates/ SC/ ST/ PwD is Rs 900 whereas all other applicants
including foreign nationals will have to pay an application fee of Rs 1800.
(ii) Extended Period: The application fee for female candidates/ SC/ ST/ PwD is Rs 1400 and all other candidates
including foreign nationals will have to pay an application fee of Rs 2300.
Note: The above Application fees are for a single test paper. Candidates opting for two papers would have to pay
twice the above-mentioned fees.
