GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, and it is a national-level entrance exam that tests the candidates’ knowledge and skills in various engineering disciplines. GATE is conducted by one of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) every year on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB). The GATE score is used for admission to postgraduate programs like M.Tech, M.E., and Ph.D. in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other reputed institutions. It is also used for recruitment by some public sector undertakings (PSUs) like IOCL, ONGC, NTPC, etc.
