Ques 1 Is there any negative marking in this exam?

Ans There will be a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer. This negative marking is applicable to both Prelims & Mains.

Ques. 2 My Date of Birth is March 31, 2000. Can I apply for these vacancies?
Ans. The lower age limit is 21 years (as on April 1, 2021) and the upper age limit is 30 years. You can definitely apply for these vacancies. Anybody who has his date of birth after April 1, 2000 or before April 1, 1991 is not eligible to apply.

Ques 3 I have only 54% marks in graduation? Can I apply for the NIACL AO exam?

Ans No, The minimum criteria is 60% in graduation/post-graduation for generalists (with 5% relaxation for SC/ST/PwBD candidates). So you can apply only if you have at least 60% marks in post-graduation.

Ques 4 I’m appearing for the final year of my B.Com. Can I apply?
Ans Yes, you can apply subject to the condition that, if called for an interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination on or before September 30, 2021.

Ques 5 Are there sectional and overall cut-offs in this exam?

Ans Yes! Candidates have to qualify in each test/section by securing passing marks to be decided by the Company. This is applicable to both Prelims and Mains exam (Objective). Mains (Descriptive) exam is on qualifying-basis only.

Ques 6 What are the qualifying marks in the descriptive test for NIACL AO exam?

Ans Qualifying marks in the descriptive test shall be as follows: 15/30 (13.5/30 for SC, ST and PwBD). You only need to qualify in the descriptive test. Its marks will not be counted towards interview-shortlisting or for the final selection.

Ques 7 When will the Descriptive Test of NIACL AO 2021 be conducted?

Ans The Descriptive Test will be conducted right after the Objective Test of Mains is over. 

Ques 8 What is the criteria for Final Selection? Will Prelims marks be considered for it?
Ans No! Prelims marks will not be considered. For the final selection, the weightage (ratio) of online Examination and Interview will be 75:25 respectively

Ques 9 How many candidates will be shortlisted for the Mains?

Ans Aspirants equivalent to approximately 15 times the numbers of vacancies will be shortlisted for Mains. So around 4,500 candidates will be shortlisted for the Mains exam.

Ques 10 What is the selection procedure for these vacancies?

Ans A Prelims (English, Reasoning & Quants) followed by Mains exam [Objective (Reasoning, English, General Awareness & Quants) + Descriptive (Letter Writing & Essay)] followed by an Interview.

Ques 11 I heard that if selected, one has to sign a Guarantee bond of 4 years. Is it true?

Ans Yes! Below are all the details of the Guarantee Bond:

• Before joining as probationer, the selected candidates will be required to give an undertaking to serve the Company for a minimum period of four years including probation period.
• In the event of their resigning from the Company before the expiry of the bond period, they will be liable to pay liquidated damages equivalent to one year’s gross salary paid to them during the year of probation which could be proportionately reduced depending on the length of service rendered.
• Besides, he/she will have to submit a stamped Bond duly executed by two sureties (not blood relatives) of sound financial standing for an amount equivalent to one year’s gross salary.
• Candidates resigning from the Company during the probation period and candidates whose services are terminated by the Company during the probation period shall be liable to pay the salary received by them during their entire service in the Company in addition to an amount of Rs. 25,000/- towards partial cost of training.

Ques 12 Will the marks in the descriptive section be considered for interview-shortlisting or for final selection?

Ans Please note that a candidate shall be required to qualify in the descriptive test, but the marks in the descriptive test will not be counted towards short listing for interview or final selection.

Ques 13 Will all papers in NIACL AO will be bilingual?

Ans No, All the papers apart from the English Language and the Descriptive Test would be bilingual i.e. in both English and Hindi.

Ques 14 How will the Descriptive test for NIACL AO be conducted?

Ans The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 30 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter writing- 10 marks & Essay writing- 20 marks). The descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted through on-line mode.

Ques 15 Will they evaluate the descriptive test for all students?

Ans No, This paper will only be evaluated if you have secured the passing marks in the mains exam.
