“Believe That You Can Do It” -Sonakshi Chouhan- Cleared LIC Assistant

We are publishing the story of Sonakshi Chauhan today. She had appeared in around 28 exams but couldn’t succeed. But unrelenting as she is, she took up a private job and continued her preparation. It’s only because of her never-give-up attitude that she was able to clear LIC Assistant exam. It took substantial efforts from her side to get selected in the Life Insurance Corporation of India. She shares her overall preparation strategy below which she utilized to clear LIC Assistant. If you are also planning to appear in LIC Assistant or other banking/ insurance exams, the below strategies can be really helpful to you. Have a look:

Congratulations on your success! Which exams did you appear in till date and what were their results?

Thanks! I started my prepration in 2016 and then the first exam I appeared in was ssc cgl in where i cleared tier1 but could not make it to the final. Since then i appeared in around 25-28 exams but failed and was demotivated. But somehow i stood up again and made my mind that i have to do it. I also did private job for 6months but after that i was back on track. Still i faced the same failures,i used to motivate myself and thn finally i cleared my prelims of LIC assistant, and i decided that i have to clear the mains at any cost and finally i was selected in LIFE INSURANCE CORPORATION OF INDIA.

How did you prepare for English?

This was my strongest amongst all the others.

For reading comprehension, i read 2 editorials daily and i maintained a diary in which i used to jot down 10 difficult words daily  to improve my vocabulary part.

In grammer i cleared the basic rules and then i attempted quizzes from PracticeMock quiz, adda247 and oliveboard quizzes which helped me a lot in improving this part.

What was your strategy for Quantitative Aptitude?

This was my weakest part and i lacked speed here. To improve it i cleared my basics first from youtube channels like infinitesimal, adda247. I practiced around 100 questions of selected chapters like simplification, quadratic equation, di and arithmetic chapters like partnership, percentage, time and work, profit and loss, compound and simple interest, ratio and average. Attempted quizzes to improve my speed and accuracy.

Your Strategy for Reasoning?

This was my favourite as this was my strongest section. I practiced the puzzles from adda cracker and attempted quizzes of PracticeMock, adda and oliveboard.

Finally, how did you prepare for General Awareness?

I made this my strongest one. I used to read daily current gk from affairs cloud, study iq, which covered almost every topic. I attempted daily gk quizzes of adda and PracticeMock.

The weekly test of every month and the 500+questions of the monthly quiz in PracticeMock helped me a lot!

What was your overall strategy? Did you follow a study schedule? If yes, please share the details.

In 2016 i joined the institute for 1year after that i studied from youtube channels like infinitesimal, adda which helped me a lot in improving my performance.

Did PracticeMock help you in your success?

I purchased the PracticeMock test series and the quality of the content provided and the level of mocks was excellent and was a bit similar as compared  to the exam level. I improved my speed and accuracy by regularly practicing the mocks.

What’s your message for the fellow aspirants who are preparing for competitive exams?*

The first step towards success is to believe that you can do it. Success comes to those who work hard smartly, who are dedicated, determined, consistent and devoted to their work. Never stop learning, if you stop you will fail so maintain the flow. Never ever give up.

“Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it”-DALAI LAMA.

So this is how Sonakshi cleared her LIC Assistant exam. And believe us, you can also do it. The only block/ obstacle is there in your mind. Once you get rid of that block, be it LIC Assistant or any other banking/ insurance exam, you can clear it. Also notice, how she has given importance to sectional tests and mock tests. Start taking mock tests and keep evaluating your performance. Make use of other strategies mentioned by her above for different sections. Wishing you good luck with your preparation!
