Can Bank PO Preparation be done without joining coaching?

There are thousands of candidates who have beaten the Bank PO Exam or earned the badge of being toppers in it. And they achieved it via self-study. Not just the Bank PO Exam, but students keep clearing other banking and civil service exams as well, without joining any coaching institute. Therefore, students who are dedicated to their aim will always be successful in the Bank PO Exam 2021.

Here are a few steps you need to follow in no particular order, take to crack this exam:

  1. Understand the Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Well begun is half done.  Understand the exam pattern properly. Making a perfect, time-bound study plan without understanding the complete syllabus and Exam pattern is almost impossible. Bank PO Exam mainly consists of two written rounds, the Prelims, and the Mains.

  • Make a realistic study plan

Make a realistic study plan for yourself. Make a plan that suits your demands, your schedule, and your comfort level. Don’t ask others to help you devise a study plan that is not going to help you. Each candidate has a different study environment, timings, and requirements.

  • Choose best books to read from

Books help you in understanding the basic concepts. Even if you’re using free online sources for understanding them, it’s better to buy some good books like Comprehensive Guide to IBPS by Disha Publications, Quantitative Aptitude by R. S. Aggarwal, and English Language by Wren & Martin for better progress. All these books are the masters of the game.

But it all depends on you, whether it’s the online source that helping you out or the books. Choose the combination wisely.

Practice makes a man perfect. You must have heard this proverb many times. And it is true to the core. Practice a lot. Take as many mock tests as possible. Or, take at least two mock tests a day if you’re a job-goer and one if you’re not working. Analyze the mocks.

Work on your weaknesses. Don’t be afraid if you fail to answer the questions. Without regular practice and you’ll be able to solve the questions you couldn’t in the past with ease. Also, PracticeMock.com offers high-quality Mock Tests and practice quizzes. The first Mock Test is absolutely free.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced candidate, only mocks will take your boat to the shore.

  • Take rest and eat healthy diet

You need to give yourself sufficient rest. Humans can’t act like machines. A restless study schedule invites dullness and fatigue and the brain starts feeling saturated. Try to take a 10-minute break after every hour of study. In these 10 minute breaks, you can, have a chat with a friend over the phone, or take a walk to inhale the fresh air. You can even listen to a song or even play the guitar. Studies have shown that it enhances your focus when you study.

  • Stay Focused and avoid distractions

With such a big syllabus to prepare in a short time, you can feel bored or overwhelmed with the preparation.  But, don’t try to prepare everything at once. Break big topics into tiny ones. And then take one topic or one subject. Try to complete it, one topic a day, before moving on to other targeted subjects. Avoid using your phone or social media during your preparation. Cut down on all sorts of distractions while studying. Put your phone on silent mode.

  • Previous year sample paper book

Get the previous year’s sample paper book and solve questions from it. Try to master one problem at a time. Try to read the problem and understand the question first. Break the question into parts. At first, it will take some time, but with practice, you’ll find that you are able to do it fairly well. Take Mock Tests for self-evaluation.

You can solve quantitative analysis papers for 2 to 3 hours in the morning, and reasoning papers for 3 hours in the evening.  Thereafter, you can study General Knowledge and English on weekends. After 3-4 months you’ll be able to solve one reasoning and one quantitative sample paper. Soon after that, you will start to make visible progress.

Hence, you can try solving papers with a stopwatch on, to check time and accuracy targets! Trust yourself. And like other successful candidates, self-study will also catapult you ahead of many other candidates.

These are some of the tips for Bank PO Preparation Without joining Coaching. The syllabus for the Bank PO can be covered in time only if you start preparing with the correct strategy. Generally, you get 2-3 months’ preparation time after the release of the notification every year. Hence, you can make good use of those 90 days to cover the entire Bank PO syllabus and with the correct study plan.
