Hi, I am Ankit Tiwari who cleared RRB Office Assistant. After graduating in 2013, I joined in TCS-ION in 2014 and resigned in Dec 2016 due to some issues. I started my preparation in 2018. It was like a roller coaster ride. I am self motivated person but it was really a testing phase of my life as I decided to leave my job and step into the government job preparation. It was my last attempt for every clerical cadre exams as I turned 28 on 1 April 2021. The very same date on which RRB OA results were announced and there couldn’t have been better Birthday gift than it. As far as my previous exams history is concerned:

2018: I couldn’t not clear any prelims, missed almost every exam with margins of 1-2 marks.

2019: I cleared almost every prelims (FCI, SBI PO/JA IBPS PO/Clerk LIC ADO/Assistants) except RRB PO and RRB OA. I cleared IBPS mains too but couldn’t make it into the final selection.

2020:

  • SBI JA: missed by 0.5 marks
  • SBI PO: couldn’t clear tha mains.
  • RRB Office Assistant: Selected in Baroda UP Bank
  • IBPS PO: Appeared in the interview again.

Ankit Tiwari’s Section-wise Preparation Strategy

English Section Preparation Strategy

English was something I had the upper hand in English. That might be the main reason that I could not clear any IBPS RRB exam because there was no section of English in RRB prelims. However mocks were enough.

Mocks were my key to success. I cleared basics from Ashish Arora Sir’s classes. Later I practiced regularly from PM’s daily quizzes and mocks.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

Ankush Sir’s concept helped me to clear the basics and later I practiced from mocks and sectional practice from PracticeMock.

General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

I follow Affairscloud on daily basis. I liked to maintain the notes on daily basis just because it made me go through the affairs once. It helped me in revision too.

Overall Strategy & Study Schedule

I wasn’t that good in making strategy. Would I have been able to do that, It would have taken me a little less time. But sooner or later you have to do that. Do it by yourself or else results would make you to do that. I think It is good to set your goals on weekly basis if you find 24 hours short. I mean if you feel that 24 hours can’t accommodate your schedule, It would be better to consider 48 hours as a whole. Make sure you don’t mismanage the time.

There were many. Every time I failed, It was tough to stay motivated but it was way harder to maintain my family’s trust in me. For financial shortcomings, I worked as content writer for a prestigious current affairs website for 45 days.

How did PracticeMock help you?

I came to know about PracticeMock in late 2019. It was like another gem to me. Mocks are up to the mark and the best thing is the reattempt mode. I really loved to practice with PracticeMock. Also I attempted month wise quiz for current affairs, It was really helpful to revise the topic.

Message to the Fellow Aspirants

I started my preparation with an attitude “Jab tak todenge nahi, tab tak chhodenge nahi”. I knew that I will get selected one day and every one will. The more you strive for it, the sooner you will get through. Toil hard and make your way…. Take inspiration from others make your own strategies.
