AFCAT 2024 Eligibility: Nationality

The IBPS RRB PO eligibility criteria for Nationality/Citizenship are as follows:

• Candidate must be a Citizen of India or
• Subject of Nepal or
• Subject of Bhutan or
• Tibetan Refugee who arrived in India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement or
• People of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanent settlement in India.

Candidates falling under categories (ii), (iii), (iv), and (v) must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

AFCAT 2024 Eligibility: Age Limit

The Indian Air Force has defined specific age limits for both flying branches and ground duty. Please refer to the age limits provided below:

Flying Branches:

Candidates’ age should fall within the range of 20 to 24 years (02/01/2001 to 01/01/2005). Those with a valid Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) are eligible for an upper age limit relaxation up to 26 years, meaning they should be born between 02/01/2001 to 01/01/2005.

Ground Duty:

Candidates must be aged between 20 and 26 years, i.e., born between 02/01/1999 and 01/01/2005.

AFCAT 2024 Eligibility: Physical Standard

Below are the physical standards set by the Indian Air Force on the basis of the following:

Here are the Brief explanation of AFCAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria on the basis of Physical Standard:

Physical Condition:

Candidates need to maintain optimal physical fitness, including proficiency in activities like running, skipping, push-ups, and sit-ups. A suggested training routine includes running 4 kilometers within 15 minutes, incorporating skipping exercises, completing one set of 20 push-ups and 20 sit-ups, accomplishing 8 chin-ups, engaging in 3-4 meters of rope climbing, and demonstrating proficiency in a 25-meter swimming session. Preparing diligently in line with this routine will contribute to the candidates’ overall physical readiness for the selection process.

Height

Below, you’ll find the minimum height criteria for males and females in both flying and ground duty branches. Please refer to the table for details.

Physical Fitness

Candidates should ensure their physical fitness before attending the SSB interview to participate in various tests at the Air Force Selection Board. At the time of reporting, candidates must demonstrate the ability to run 1.6 km and perform 10 push-ups and 3 chin-ups.

Tattoos

Here are the following specifications related to the AFCAT Eligibility Criteria for tattoos. 

• Permanent tattoos are not allowed, except on the inner face of forearms and the reverse side of the palm of both hands. Candidates with tattoos on these areas must sign a self-declaration certificate.
• Small tattoos depicting religious symbols or names of loved ones are permitted, but they should not compromise military discipline.
• Tribal community candidates are permitted tattoos in accordance with their customs and traditions; however, it is subject to a case-by-case basis.

Narcotics

The use of intoxicants is prohibited. If a candidate consumes intoxicants during training or their service career, they will be disqualified from joining the IAF. If already enlisted, such individuals will be discharged from the service.
