What is the SSC CGL 2023?
Combined Graduate Level Examination also known as CGL or CGLE is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission every year for the recruitment of Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ Officers for various posts in top ministries, departments, & organizations of the Government of India.
Prerequisites for Applying
- The candidate must have a graduate degree from a recognized university or equivalent at the time of applying.
- The applicant must be between 20 to 30 years of age. The age limit will very depending upon the post applied.
- There is age relaxation for ST/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Widows as described in the notification.

Strategy for the SSC CGL Tier II 2023
Tier II has compulsory subjects namely: Mathematical abilities, Reasoning & General Intelligence, English Language & Comprehension, General Awareness, Computer knowledge, & Data Entry Speed. Computer Knowledge is qualifying and the candidate must obtain the minimum qualifying score for the final selection. Junior Statistical Officer will have to take an extra paper, i.e., Statistics as Paper II, while there is an extra paper, General Studies (Finance & Economics) as Paper III for the candidates who have applied for the post of Assistant Audit Officer or Assistant Account Officer.
Here’s how you can prepare of the Tier II phase of SSC CGL:
- Dip into the syllabus and previous year’s question papers. Familiarize yourself with the most important topics and the question pattern.
- Devise a strategy for how would you go about preparing like which topic you will attempt first.
- A study plan is a must of serious preparation. Make a functional one and follow it.
- Vocabulary practice will add an extra edge to your preparation.
- Connect with peer groups and mentors. Get to know how they are preparing and which books they are using.
- Go for intensive mock test sessions after the completion of each topic.
- Analyze your performance after each test. Compare your score with the toppers. Note down the areas where you need to focus more.
