Is RBI Grade B Officer Gazetted?

Gazetted officers are the top-level public servants in India. They have executive or managerial roles. They get their authority from the President of India or the State Governors. They can issue official stamps and documents. They represent the Indian State and the President. The gazetted officer is someone whose name appears in the Gazette of India or any State Gazette.

The Gazette of India and State Gazettes are official publications that announce the appointments or promotions of certain government officials. If someone is appointed as an officer or public servant by the Governor or the President, they have to be listed in the Gazette. And then they become a gazetted officer.

But RBI Grade B is not a gazetted officer post. Why? Because RBI is a separate entity from the Government of India. Working in RBI does not mean working for the government directly. RBI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Government of India. The RBI Grade B officers get their power from the rules and regulations of RBI, not from the President or the Governor. They do not appear in the Gazette of India.
