The SSC JE exam is conducted in two stages – Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is an objective-type computer-based exam that consists of 200 questions from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical). Each section carries 50 marks, and the total duration of the exam is 2 hours. Paper II is a descriptive-type written exam that consists of questions related to the candidate’s field of engineering. The total marks for Paper II are 300, and the duration of the exam is 2 hours.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC JE Exam

Candidates who wish to apply for the SSC JE exam must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Age Limit: The candidate’s age should be between 18 to 32 years as of 1st January 2023. Age relaxation is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
  • Educational Qualification: The candidate must have a degree or diploma in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or institute.
  • Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962.

How to Apply for SSC JE Exam?

Candidates can apply for the SSC JE exam by visiting the official website of the Staff Selection Commission. The application process is conducted online, and candidates must fill in their personal details, educational qualifications, and other relevant information. Candidates must also upload a scanned copy of their photograph and signature. The application fee for the exam is Rs. 100, which can be paid online or offline.
