Registration Details for IBPS RRB PO & Clerk

The registration for RRB PO & RRB Clerk starts today (June 8, 2021) the last day of which is June 28, 2021.   1. Is there anything new in this year’s IBPS RRB Notification when compared to IBPS RRB 2020 notification?

    There is no major change in IBPS RRB 2021 Notification when compared to the 2020 Notification.

  2. When will the registration process of IBPS RRB-X begin?

    The registration process for RRB-VII has already started today (June 8, 2021) and the online registration link will remain active until June 28, 2021.

  3. For what all posts will IBPS conduct the RRB-X exam?

    IBPS will conduct RRB-X examination for recruitment of Group “A”-Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant (Multipurpose).

  4. Can I apply for both: RRB Clerk & RRB PO posts?

    A candidate can apply for the Post of RRB Clerk/Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and can also apply for the Post of RRB PO/Officer Scale 1. However, a candidate can apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. either for Officer Scale-I or Scale-II or Scale-III.

  5. What is the Application fee for applying to RRB Clerk & RRB PO?

    The details of application fee are below:
    Officer Scale I
    – Rs. 175/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
    – Rs. 850/- for all others
    Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
    -Rs. 175/- for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates.
    – Rs. 850/- for all others

  6. How many vacancies are there this year?

    Total Vacancies (Office Assistant+ Officer Scale 1): 9,046
    RRB Clerk: 5,134
    RRB PO: 3,912
    The state with the highest number of vacancies is Uttar Pradesh.

  7. What is the educational qualification required for both RRB Clerk & RRB PO?

    Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent. Please note that there is no minimum percentage required to apply for RRB Clerk or RRB PO.

  8. Can I apply for a state other than my home state?

    Yes, a candidate can apply for any state he/she wants, however, upon selection he/she will be posted in the RRB’s that particular state only. For eg: A candidate from Madhya Pradesh can apply from Uttar Pradesh, however upon selection he will be posted in RRBs located in UP only.

  9. I’m from Tamil Nadu but I want to apply for Kerala. Will my exam center be at Tamil Nadu or Kerala?

    You can opt for any Exam Center given in the detailed notification. Applying for a state and opting for an exam center are completely different things.

  10. Is there any local language requirement as well?

    Yes, candidates need to know the local language as prescribed by the respective RRB of a state. So, candidates are advised to take a well-deliberated call. Candidates who have already studied the language of the State in standard VIII or any level above standard VIII in Government recognized Boards of Education/ school would be considered proficient in that local language. If not he will be given a time of six months from the date of joining to acquire the proficiency.

  11. Is there any new change in the paper pattern of IBPS -RRB X (RRB Clerk & RRB PO)?

    There is no change in the pattern of RRB exams i.e. the pattern is same as that of last year.

  12. Is there any negative marking in the prelims and Mains stage?

    Yes, one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that particular question will be deducted as a penalty if the question is answered incorrectly. However, unattempted answers will not attract any penalty.

  13. What is the final selection criteria for RRB PO and RRB Clerk?

    For RRB Clerk- Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination to be considered to be shortlisted for provisional allotment.
    For RRB PO- Candidates will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Candidates in each category not exceeding three times of the declared vacancies in each state shall be called for the interview. Final merit will be based on the performance of both Mains and Interview.

  14. Will I be allowed to carry & wear mask inside the examination hall?

    Please be informed that wearing a mask is compulsory to take the exam.

  15. What all item am I allowed to carry in the examination hall?

    Please note that the below items are allowed inside the examination hall:
    a. Mask (WEARING A MASK is COMPULSORY)
    b. Gloves
    c. Personal transparent water bottle
    d. Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml)
    e. A simple pen
    f. Exam related documents (Call Letter/Admit Card, ID card in Original, Photocopy of ID Card, etc)
    g. Call Letter/Admit Card should be brought with the Photocopy of the Photo ID stapled with it. Original
    ID (same as Photocopy) is also to be brought for verification. The name on the ID and on the Call
    Letter/Admit Card should be exactly the same.
    h. In case of Scribe Candidates – Scribe form duly filled and signed with Photograph affixed.
    Apart from these items, no other item is allowed.

  16. Is Aarogya Setu app compulsory to take the exam?

    A Candidate must have Aarogya Setu App installed on his mobile phone. The Aarogya Setu status must show candidate’s risk factor. A candidate will have to display this status to the Security Guard at the entry into the exam venue.

  17. I don’t have a smartphone and threfore, will not have Aarogya Setu app. How do I take the exam?

    In case a candidate does not have a smart phone, he/she will have to bring in a signed declaration to this effect (declaration form provided in Annexure- IV of Notification) and show the same to the Security Guard at the entry into the exam venue.
