Durgesh Kumar Yadav’s Success Story

I started preparing for SSC in 2018. But things didn’t go in my favour. I forgot to carry Aadhar card in ssc chsl 2018(exam was held in 2019)and was denied to take exam. I Completed my graduation in 2019 and applied for CGL. But unfortunately My application for CGL 19and CHSL19 got rejected(I got the message of rejection on 14th Jan 2020). At that point I was shattered and dejected. I stopped studying thereafter. Then came the notification of RRB PO, I applied for it and started preparing and with God’s grace I sailed through it.

Section-wise Preparation Strategy

English Section Preparation Strategy

English section of bank exams mostly comprises reading comprehension. We need to have a good command over reading to score good marks. I started reading the Hindu for 1 hour and solved almost all sectional mock available on PracticeMock. Analyzed my mistakes properly and kept improving.

Practice Topic Wise English Quizzes

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

As I had prepared for SSC. My concepts were quite clear. Only some 2-3 topics were new for me. I cleared those topics from Meritnshine’s videos. And practiced a lot of questions. And here too I solved all sectional mock of PM. Be it of SBI clerk, sbi po or of any exam. I revisited them to analyze mistakes and try not to do the same again.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

I started preparing for it diligently. Attempted various puzzles and got a good command over prelims level puzzles. but soon I realized that mains puzzle would take time and I won’t be able to do it. Then I focused on miscellaneous topics of reasoning like syllogism, Chinese coding, critical reasoning and blood relation.

Overall Strategy & Study Schedule

As we know that IBPS is not a high scoring exam I decided to give:

  • 3 hours to QA
  • 1 hour to reasoning
  • 2 hour to English
  • 2 hour to GA.

I followed this plan so that I can score some marks in all sections and get qualified. I faced no hurdles and challenges as such while I was preparing for my examination.
