Before going through the SSC CGL 4 months study plan, you should understand the SSC CGL syllabus. SSC CGL 4 Months Study Plan: Month-wise Strategy

We have divided the SSC CGL 4-month study plan into a month-wise strategy to provide you with a systematic approach. It will help you in what you should do in 1st month, then in 2nd, and so on. So, let’s start with the 1st month of preparation.

Month 1: SSC CGL Exam 4 Months Study Plan

It is the initial phase when you start your preparation for the SSC CGL exam. The steps that you should take for the SSC CGL exam preparation are to understand the exam pattern, syllabus, level of the exam, etc. After a good understanding of the syllabus, create a study plan or strategy that covers the whole syllabus, revision, practice, and much more.

  1. Start your preparation by building the basic concepts or topics strongly.
    • For the concept, you can refer to SSC CGL books, NCERT books, etc.
    • For example:
    • 1. If you are studying Percentages, then first understand what is the concept of percentages, what formulas it contains, and focus on solving the basic level questions.
    • 2. History contains three parts: simple, medium, and advanced. So, in the first month, focus on a simple part of history and look for types of questions asked about such topics. Take reference from the previous year’s question papers.
  2. Make sure that you have made a notebook to write down the important formulas, highlights, dates, and events, etc. (Suggestion: You should make four different notebooks for each subject).
  3. While learning the basic concepts, make sure that you are solving the easy-level questions too. You should solve topic-wise tests, as it will help you to get a deep knowledge of each topic.

Month 2: SSC CGL Exam 4 Months Study Plan

When you have covered the basic concepts or topics for the SSC CGL exam, you can move to cover the advanced topics. The SSC CGL exam is one of the toughest exams. The SSC can ask any type of question from any topic in its syllabus. It is your responsibility to be aware of any types of questions.

Now, it’s time to make a plan to cover advanced topics. First, choose which topics you think will be advanced or complex for you. After choosing the advanced topics, create a strategy on how you will cover them in one month.

  • Focus on solving different types of questions based on different patterns.
  • Start solving questions from basic to advanced.
  • Quantitative Aptitude:
    • Advanced Topics: Simple and compound interest, Probability, Permutation, Combination, Geometry (Lines, Angles, Circle, and Triangles).
    • Solve previous year’s question papers to know the types of questions asked in the exam. It will help you choose which types of questions you have to focus on more.
    • Solve 25-30 questions daily.
    • Practice free topic-wise tests to get your topic-wise preparation report.
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning:
    • Advanced Topics: Advanced puzzles, series, syllogism, coding-decoding, etc.
    • Start solving questions belonging to the above topics from easy to difficult levels.
    • Work on solving questions using shortcut tricks to maintain your accuracy and speed.
    • Check your weak areas in topics by taking the free topic-wise tests.
  • English Language:
    • Advanced Topics: Error spotting, seating arrangement, close test, etc. (advanced-level questions).
    • Take free topic-wise tests to boost your preparation level.
    • Improve your grammar at an advanced level.
    • Practice reading comprehension (at least 5 questions can be asked).
    • Solve 30-35 questions daily.
  • General Awareness:
    • Advanced Topics: Indian Economy, Books and Authors, History, Geography, etc.
    • Improve your score by taking the free topic-wise tests of general awareness.
    • Read newspapers daily and stay updated with current affairs.
    • Find a way to remember the correct affairs easily. (Solve weekly mock tests).

Month 3: SSC CGL Exam 4 Months Study Plan

Now you have 2 months remaining for the SSC CGL 2025 tier 1 exam, and you have covered the basic and advanced topics for the SSC CGL exam. In the 3rd month,

There might be some topics that you may not have covered in the 1st or 2nd month. That topic you have to cover in the 3rd month. Your 3rd month should be dedicated to revision, topic-wise tests, tracking progress (or performance analysis), and practicing one complete mock test a week. During performance analysis, if you find any topic in which you need more practice, then schedule a time for it and study it, and practice more questions on it.

Month 4: SSC CGL Exam 4 Months Study Plan

This is the final month and a very important month. A single minute of this month is important. Below, we have provided some tips or strategies on how you can get the most out of this month.

  1. You should take 2-3 complete mock tests a week. (Performance analysis is mandatory after taking each mock test.)
  2. Solve previous year’s question papers as much as possible and understand the level of questions or types of questions that SSC can ask in the exam.
  3. Make a schedule for the revision. (Make sure that you have divided your day to focus on revision for each section.)
  4. When at least 10 days are left, take a final revision, practice one mock test in two days, and try to solve the mock test in 55 minutes instead of 60 minutes.
  5. Be relaxed and stress-free, most candidates become stressed, due to which they are unable to give their best.
