Concept of Ratio And Proportion

Ratio: Ratio is a mathematical concept that can be explained as comparing two quantities of the same unit.
For Example, a and b are two values of the same unit, and b is not equal to zero. Then,
The ratio will be the quotient a/b. (a:b=>a/b)
The symbol we use for the ratio is (:) colon.
Proportion: It can be defined as it is the equation that explains the two given ratios are equivalent to each other.
Two proportional ratios are always equal.
The symbol we use for the proportion is (::). (a/b=c/d or a:b::c:d)

Question 5: Ratio of age of A and B after 18 years will be 8:9 respectively. Present age of B is 80% more than age of A ten years ago. Find the ratio of their age after 6 years.

Question 6: The ratio of number of followers of MS Dhoni on instagram and twitter was 17:12 respectively. If the number of followers on instagram and twitter were increased by 29 and 24 everyday and after 50 days the ratio changes to 4:3 then find the number of followers on twitter after 50 days.

Question 8: The ratio of present age of A and B is 12:17 respectively. After 6 years, the ratio of their age becomes 14:19 respectively. Find the ratio of their age 6 years ago.
