Nilesh Srivastava shared his success story with us. He recently cleared SBI Clerk 2019 exam and this is what he has to say about his section-wise preparation strategy and how he cleared the SBI Clerk exam.
Previous experience with Banking Exams and the Results!
The first exam I appeared was IBPS PO in the year 2017. After that from mid 2018, I started my preparation with full dedication but was able to clear only IBPS PO 2018 Prelims, however failed in Mains. It was a confidence booster for me and then I again pushed myself on the same track and finally cleared SBI Clerk 2019.
Preparation Strategies for English, Quant, Reasoning, Current Affairs & General Awareness
Initially, I followed INFINITESIMAL (Youtube and Facebook group) and then joined his course. They suggested me to buy PracticeMock test series. So, I just relied on two sources; PracticeMock and Infinitesimal. I started giving PracticeMock tests for Prelims and Mains and find out that its totally relevant with the exam pattern. For English, I only gave as much mocks as possible and analyse those thoroughly. As far as Quant is concerned, firstly I cleared my basics, and then gradually increased my practice level. For Reasoning section practice is the only way to sail through this section. You can find good level of question in mocks easliy. For GA, I used to study on weekly basis from 2 or 3 sources.
What was the strategy you adopted in preparing for the exam? What was your study schedule? What were the major hurdles you overcame
I used to give 1 mock on daily basis and on the same day used to analyse it. For Mains, I used to take mains mock test in the morning that helped me to build up my habit for morning session exam and then analysed it in the night. In my free time I usually used to watch GK videos and used to attempt GK quizzes on various sources. The only problem I faced initially was my speed, but this was gone from regular practice.
How PracticeMock helped you?
Along with mock tests, I am very much impressed with their “PracticeMock Most Probable 500+ CA Questions PDF”. Just before for each and every exam it is released. It really helped me and I recommend it to everyone.
Don’t give up as there is always a next time. What’s important is your effort for each and every mark.
