Age Limit and eligibility (As on 01.08.2018)

All Posts (except the following): Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.

Compiler:  You should complete your graduation in Economics/Statistics/Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective subject.

Statistical Investigator Grade II: You should have Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognised University with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level

OR

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

The age eligibility criteria lies in the range of 18-32 years. This varies from post to post.

Also, age relaxations are provided for different categories as per government regulations.

Selection procedure

The selection will be done on the basis of  a candidates performance in four tiers or phases as follows:

Consolidated time limit of 60 minutes for Tier-1 exam. Each incorrect answer would fetch -0.5 marks.

Note-I: In Tier-I, there will be negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer.

Note-II: In Tier-II, there will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension) and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV.

Note-III: In Tier-II, Paper-I and Paper-II are compulsory for all the posts.

Note-IV: In Tier-II, Paper-III will be for only those candidates who apply for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for this Post/ Paper.

Note-V: In Tier-II, Paper-IV will be for only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-IV i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

Note-VI: 120 minutes time duration for each paper.

tier iii-pen and paper mode (descriptive paper)

In addition to above, the Commission has also inducted a Descriptive Paper of English/Hindi as Tier-III. The paper will be in pen-paper mode and candidates would be required to write essays/ applications/ letter/ precis etc. The total marks would be 100 and the total time allotted to this section is 60 minutes.

tier IV-computer proficiency test/skill test (wherever applicable)/document verification

NOTE: The merit will be prepared on overall performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III. However, the candidate will need to qualify all the tiers i.e Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III separately. There will be no sectional cut-off.
