FCI (Food Corporation of India) has released the notification of different vacancies for the posts of

  • Jr. Engineer (Civil Engineering/Electrical Mechanical Engineering)
  • Asst. Grade-II (Hindi)
  • Steno Grade-II
  • Typist (Hindi)
  • Asst. Grade-III (Gen/Accounts/Technical/Depot)

There are 4,100+ vacancies at stake this time and this is a golden opportunity for aspirants who are preparing for government exams. The application process will start from Feb 23, 2019. We have come up with some Frequently Asked Questions which should clarify your doubts regarding this notification.

Ques 1. What is the total number of vacancies in the South Zone?
Ans The total no. of vacancies in the South Zone is 540 with the maximum vacancies for AG-III (Depot).
Ques 2. Are Final year students eligible?
Ans No! Final year student are not eligible.
Ques 3. What are the categories of disabilities for these vacancies?
Ans (a) blindness and low vision;
(b) deaf and hard of hearing;
(c) locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy;
(d) autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness;
(e) multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness in the posts identified for each of the disability
Ques 4 What is the maximum age limit for J.E. (Electrical Mechanical Engineering)?
Ans The maximum age limit for J.E. (Electrical Mechanical Engineering) is 28 years. The candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC categories are eligible for age relaxation maximum by 05 and 03 years respectively. Please refer to page 8 of the official notification for additional details.
Ques 5 What are the total numbers of vacancies for the North Zone?
Ans There is a total of 1,999 vacancies in the North Zone.
Ques 6. What is the degree of disability above which people are eligible?
Ans Persons with the Degree of Disability of 40% and above are eligible for applying for the posts earmarked for persons with benchmark disabilities.
Ques 7. What are the qualifications for J.E. (Civil Enginering)?
Ans Aspirants applying for J.E. (Civil Engineering) must have a Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering with one year experience.
Ques 8. I hold a Bachelor degree in Commerce? Am I eligible?
Ans Yes! You are eligible to apply for AG-III (General), AG-III (Accounts) and AG-III (Depot) if you are proficient in the use of computers. Additionally, you may apply for Typist (Hindi) if you possess 30 w.p.m. speed in hindi typing.
Ques 9. Can I apply in more than one zone?
Ans No! You can’t apply for more than one zone. You can apply only one zone at one time.
Ques 10. Can I apply for multiple posts?
Ans No! You can’t apply for more than one post at one time.
Ques 11. What is the mode of application? Will Any hard copies of the application form be entertained?
Ans The mode of application is “only” online. Please note that no hard copies of the application form will be entertained.
Ques 12. What is the age relaxation for candidates belonging to the SC/ST category?
Ans The candidates belonging to of SC/ST and OBC categories are eligible for age relaxation maximum by 05 and 03 years respectively.
Ques 13. I have been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989 what is the age relaxation for me?
Ans There is an extra relaxation of 5 years for those aspirants who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989.
Ques 14. What is the age relaxation for a widow?
Ans If you are a widow and have not remarried, the age relaxation is below: For General: 35 years, OBC: 38 years & SC/ST: 40 years

  3. hi my dob is 0 8-03-1991, i will be 27 before 01-01-2019 right for AG-III general post. But application is not having option in it.

    • Hi Keerthana, For the post of AG – III Maximum age limit is 27 years as on 01/01/2019. You are already above this limit hence your are ineligible.

    I APPLIED FOR BOTH ENGINEER AND ag DEPOT POST BY TWO APPLICATIONS USING DIFFERENT GMAIL ids WILL THERE BE NAY PROBLEM —– CAUSE I AM QUALIFIED TO APPLY FOR BOTH

    I THINK WE SHOULD FILE A SUIT AS IT VIOLATES ARTICLE 16 – EQUALITY OF OPPURTUNITY IN PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT

    • Hi Vishnu, The notification clearly says that – “A CANDIDATE CAN APPLY ONLY FOR ANY ONE OF THE POSTCODE A, B,
      C, D, E, F, G, H AND I (WITHIN THE ZONE)”.
